Welcome to the Venice Area Garden Club’s website. VAGC was formed on January 30, 1957 with 25 members. Our mission then and continues to be environmental, education and the beautification of our community. We now have 128 members designing and maintaining civic projects, learning floral design and enjoying our own plants and gardens.
This past year our events included the Christmas Tree Walk, Garden Festival and a very successful 22nd annual Home Tour. We raised money with these projects enabling us to provide three college scholarships and send children to summer camp at Camp Wekiva.
At FFGC State Convention we received our first Path of Sunshine Award for the wildflower garden planted in Centennial Park by our Civic Beautification Committee. This project was also recognized and received an award from National Garden Clubs.
Our Club has many committees which provide us with avenues to enjoy a variety of activities including Garden Therapy; Boutique; Horticulture; Birds, Butterflies & Wildflowers just to name a few.
This coming club year (which starts in October) we will have a Garden Study Course and classes in Floral Design and Ikebana Design.
Monthly meetings are held the first Thursday of each month (October – April) at South Venice Community Center and are open to the public. We encourage you to join us as we look forward to a wonderful new year.
